Dr. Francesca Marini is Associate Professor at the Texas A&M University Libraries, where she serves as the Programming and Outreach Librarian, Cushing Memorial Library and Archives (special collections and archives). Francesca is also the Coordinator of the Cushing Library's Internship Program, and the Co-Chair of the Don Kelly Collection Research Fellowship Program; she served as the Coordinator of the Libraries' Diversity Residency Program. Francesca is co-editor of the Cushing Library's blog, The Cushing Collective (https://cushing.library.tamu.edu/thecollective/). Francesca started her career as an Assistant Professor of archival studies at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, School of Library, Archival and Information Studies (2005-2010). She then served in management positions (2010-2018), as Archives Director at the Stratford Festival in Canada, and as Associate Dean for Special Collections and Director of the Cushing Library at Texas A&M. Francesca's research interests focus on performing arts archiving, as well as on outreach in special collections and archives (in particular, exhibitions). She publishes in performing arts, archival and library journals. Francesca has an active record of service to the profession, including serving as President of the Theatre Library Association (2019-2022) and as Chair of the ALA/ACRL Rare Books and Manuscripts Section's Diversity Committee (July 2018-June 2022). Francesca is happy to discuss the following topics with conference attendees: diversity and inclusivity in the profession; performing arts archiving; outreach; exhibitions; working with students; research; professional service.
