Starting as a student in 2005, Alison has been with the J. Willard Marriott Library Special Collections for fourteen years. Inspired by the sight of the first edition of Galileo's Dialogo, Alison cultivated her passion, earning a BA in History at the University of Utah and, in 2013, a MLIS from the University of Washington iSchool. In her roles as Library Assistant, Rare Books Curator, and Reference Librarian for Special Collections, she has worked to improve the user experience, protect library collections, and share the history of the book with others.
